The Day I Chose to Bloom
Looking for mastectomy swimsuits that empower and heal? You’ve come to the right place.
At POST SWIM, we believe you should be able to share your story on your terms—when you’re ready and in the way that feels right for you. Whether you’re searching for mastectomy swimsuits, post-surgery swimwear, or scar-conscious designs, every piece we create honors your story and your strength.
Why the Daffodil Still Inspires Me
The daffodil has long been a symbol of hope, strength, and new life in the cancer community. Since the 1950s, the Canadian Cancer Society has used it for fundraising, officially adopting it in 2000 as their emblem to represent spring, resilience, and the belief that cancer can be beaten. Today, organizations like the American Cancer Society carry that tradition forward through campaigns like Daffodil Days, making it a global emblem of survival.
My Daffodil Moment: From Survivor to Swimwear Founder
I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer three days before my 38th birthday. I went through chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and reconstruction—only to find myself unrecognizable in my own skin.
When I went searching for a swimsuit to celebrate my healing, everything felt wrong. The styles were clinical, ill-fitting, and disconnected from the 39-year-old woman I still felt I was inside. I didn’t want to hide my scars or put them on display—I just wanted the choice to share them on my own terms.
That was the moment POST SWIM was born.
What You’ll Find in POST Script
POST Script is our space for the stories, tips, and inspiration that go beyond the swimsuit. Here, we’ll share:
- The stories and purpose behind our mastectomy swimsuits
- Real survivor experiences and conversations about scar confidence
- Style ideas, sun safety tips, and design insights
- Personal updates from my own ongoing healing journey
Whether you’re recovering from a mastectomy or lumpectomy, embracing flatness, or supporting scar confidence after reconstruction—this blog, like our suits, is for you.
Choosing to Bloom
I launched POST SWIM on my three-year cancer-versary, a date that once represented fear but now stands for resilience. Like the daffodil after a harsh winter, we bloom again.
With love,
Lauren
