A note from our founder, Lauren Yerkes, on Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our Sugar Pink set, and why 30% of every Sugar Pink Lolo Top and Ashley Bottom sold this October goes to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.
Every October, the world turns pink. Ribbons on everything, pink in every store window, pink all over your feed. I love that people are paying attention. But I also know what it feels like to be on the other side of all that pink: the woman with the diagnosis, wondering what any of it actually does for her.
I was 37 when I was diagnosed with stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer. Seven months of treatment, a feeding tube, then a double mastectomy and reconstruction. On November 11, 2022, I was declared cancer-free.
Triple-negative is the kind I had. It's also the kind that doesn't respond to the hormone therapies that work for many other breast cancers, which means research and real support matter even more.
So this year, we wanted our pink to do more than show up. From October 1 through October 31, 30% of every Sugar Pink Lolo Top and Ashley Bottom sold goes to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation. It's the POST SWIM fit you already know, in our sweetest shade yet. Wear it because it's a great swimsuit. Know it's doing something good too.
Xo, Lauren
Why October Means Something Different to Me
Awareness is where it starts, not where it ends. For me, October is about the women who are in the middle of it right now, and the women who are figuring out what comes after.
After I finished treatment, we planned a trip to Maui. I couldn't find a swimsuit. Or at least, not one I actually wanted to wear. So I made one. We launched POST SWIM on April 7, the day I was diagnosed, because I wanted that date to mean something new.
Sugar Pink is my thank you to everyone who carried me through that year, and a way to help the next woman who hears the words "triple-negative."
What Is Triple-Negative Breast Cancer?
Most breast cancers are fueled by one of three receptors: estrogen, progesterone or HER2. Many treatments work by targeting those receptors. Triple-negative breast cancer has none of the three, which is where the name comes from.
That makes it harder to treat. The American Cancer Society reports that triple-negative accounts for about 10 to 15% of all breast cancers, and it has fewer treatment options than other types. That's exactly why research funding, and support for the women going through it, matters so much.
Meet the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation
The Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation started in 2006, when a group of friends rallied around a young mom diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. Today, the foundation:
- Funds research focused specifically on triple-negative breast cancer, so it never gets left behind.
- Runs a TNBC Helpline, where patients can talk with oncology social workers trained in what this diagnosis actually looks like.
- Offers financial assistance to help with real-life costs during treatment, like transportation and child care.
- Builds community, with online support groups so no one has to go through it alone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sugar Pink
How does the Sugar Pink donation work?
From October 1 through October 31, 2026, 30% of the purchase price of every Lolo Top and Ashley Bottom in Sugar Pink ordered on postswim.com goes to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation. That's calculated after discounts and excludes tax and shipping. Returned or refunded items are not included.
Is the I'm Still Here Hat part of the donation?
No. The donation applies to the Lolo Top and Ashley Bottom in Sugar Pink only.
What is triple-negative breast cancer?
It's a type of breast cancer that doesn't have the three receptors (estrogen, progesterone and HER2) that many treatments target. That makes it harder to treat, and it's why research funding matters.
Why did you choose the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation?
Triple-negative is the type of breast cancer our founder, Lauren, had. The foundation funds research and offers real, practical support to patients and families facing the same diagnosis.
Will you share how much was raised?
Yes. We'll share the final total with our community after October 31.
Can I wear the Lolo Top after a mastectomy?
Yes. The Lolo was designed to cover mastectomy and port scars, with removable waterproof cups and an adjustable back strap so you can customize the fit.
